Party Night Feb 6 2010

So I am only gunna write a tiny bit today as I am on my way out the door to got to Mario’s 20th birthday party. I suddenly feel old. My friends are not teens anymore; it is kind of a weird feeling and I am not sure I like it. Work was busy as heck so to come home relax, eat dinner, and shave my head felt good. Remember if life is worth living its worth recording.

My Short Life Story

I have had the privilege to be raised in a community like Port Coquitlam my entire life. I hear from everyone that this is one of the most beautiful places on earth so I am excited to see other places to confirm that. From a young age my dad always pushed me to go out riding with him. At that age I did not like it much; I can remember each ride we would head to this duck pond then turn back. Each time we got close to the duck pond I always felt like I was dieing.As I got older my hobbies stayed pretty much the same. The rides not longer and he tried to teach me how to mountain bike. That is when the wheels fell off the bus. I was no good at it and decided to try other hobbies. At that point I took up both bass guitar and started in the junior Olympic archery program, all while start my first part time job at 13.By age 15 I was trying to expand s my mom decided to book me a mechanics course at Caps Westwood Cycle. I don’t know what Glen saw in me but evidently his instinct was right. After the course he ran out into the parking lot and missed us by less then a minute. From there I got a phone call offering me a job. Now 3 years later my hobby of cycling has become a passion and a lifestyle. It is what I use to commute, relax, and pay the bills. The idea for the trip started in senior year of high school. Everyone was talking of college and university and asked me what I was going to do. When I said ride my bike everyone looked at me like i as crazy. Even to this day I talk to people who cant believe I am going to do it. Most thought that it would just come and pass but here we are 15 days away from the adventure of a lifetime. During my time as a guidance counsellor (link leader) for grade 9 students as well as during my valedictorian speech I kept the same message fallow what you want to do not what everyone else wants you to do because “impossible is nothing”.
